They are having a sale right now. All kinds of carrying gear.

I love my Cotton Carrier, wouldn't be without it. It's much easier on the neck. I only wish they'd come in different sizes when I ordered mine years ago--do they now?--because mine swims on me unless I'm wearing a few layers.

Any thoughts on how one might fit a 5’4” large boobed female? I hike fairly often and have started using poles, so hands-free would be good.

Interested in the response to this as well.

It would probably fit you better than it does me! During warm months I either have to let it slide around on me or pad it underneath--I've used a swamp cooler pad for that purpose. But even when the Carrier doesn't fit well it still saves the load on my neck.

OK...guess I'm gonna take the plunge and get one while they are on sale. I have started using hiking poles and the ability to use a CC to hold camera while using the poles is appealing.

The kind with a plastic hub that mounts the camera may not do well with a big lens like that. I used a similar brand of carrier (from Movo), but I am sure the quality is the same. But with my full frame camera and 400mm lens the plastic hub soon started wearing down and cracking. I don't fault the carrier, since I figured I was over-loading it beyond its intended use.
There are slings that rely on straps to hold the camera, and there are various brands of all metal "capture camera" clips. Maybe consider something in those areas.

In all likelihood I will be hiking with a Canon 7D M2 and Tamron 18-400 lens. I have the Tamron 150-600 G2, but it is a beast for me to handle for a variety of reasons and I am moving more and more to using it with a monopod/gimbal head or tripod.

This old gray mare ain't what she use to be!
