Probably not, and they couldn't comprehend them being cut by hand.
I remember as a kid wondering how the made the exposed top of the cobble stone smooth and rounded
in later years I realized that was done by years of being exposed to iron banded wheel traffic.
Do you remember the granite curbs? their top & sides were never polished only eroded by weather.
