Can anyone speak to the issue of matching your camera to a particular printer? I was told this gives superior color control.
From my experience you input the printer profile into your post processing software. It works best if you also color calibrate your monitor. That way, the colors you see on your prints are the same as you have seen on your monitor. I do not know if matching to your camera does anything unless enabling lens profile corrections makes any difference, yet then again, you would do that in your post processing software. I am assuming when you are asking about Kirkland print quality you mean Costco. You can download their icc printer profiles at
http://www.drycreekphoto.com/icc/ . But if all this seems too complicated, look into Bay Photo. A little more expensive but they can do the color corrections for you. Well worth it, I have never been disappointed.
Thanks, but my routine is to simply take my card to Costgo Photo. My shots are stored and printed out of iPhoto. I don't understand 'into your post processing software.'

I use Costco only to send photos with our Christmas cards. I found that they seemed to come out a little darker than what I see on my screen (2013 iMac 27").

How high is the brightness on your screen set?
Joseph, do you still have a Costco store that has a photo section. In my part of the country they are all closed.

I started printing in 1959 and think Costco's quality is great. However, I must deselect the option for autocorrections. This feature overrides what I have on your screen. I do not use their profiles and use the default Adobe color space. Works like a charm and is truly WYSIWYG.
I've recently ordered a couple of prints from Costco online. I first post processed them the way that I wanted and downloaded them to the Costco website. I told them that I do not want them to adjust the prints and what I recieved back were prints that were exactly as they appeared on my monitor.

Yup, I also don't have them <auto> adjust, I select print as is.
I do not have a Costco near me so don't belong. Could I still use their online photo service?

Do not know but I would try anyway.
I don't think so. I'm sure they would glad to sell you a membership online.
Here in Oregon, Most if not all Costco have closed their processing center down.
So if I want a photo printed I have to wait for the mail to deliver a week later.
Now I just do not print pictures like I did last year and in the past.
Sad !
