We would love to see photos of only shoes...They can surely tell a story all by them selves, can't they! So give us just shoes-no bodies or faces..Can be color or B/W...Let us know your connection/history with them and have FUN!
Nice shot Judy, good Start off.

So these are my slippers that I wear around the house. I went to put them on this morning and found an extra. Caramel does like to leave things in our shoes! I hope that does not break the rules of no faces.
Cats and their toys, you never know where you'll find them..

These boots have participated in many dozens of military funerals, flag raisings, flag presentations, and grammar school flag and patriotisms education programs. They have witnessed hundreds of flag retirements, marched in parades and stood countless formations on Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and opening ceremonies for special events. These boots are special. Along with hundreds of thousands of active duty, retired military and veterans, they continue to serve and honor this great nation.
Thanks for your Service Thom..

Blue Suede Shoes at Hamden High
“Well it's one for the money, two for the show
Three to get ready, now go cat go
But don't you, step on my blue suede shoes
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes”
Elvis Presley belted out this rock toon in February of 1956; it was written the year before by Carl Perkins. The song was one of the first recorded by Elvis for RCA Victor.
In the spring of ’56, I had wood shop with Mr. Sundberg. We were assigned a project: making a lamp with a hand pump motif. After construction, sanding and lacquering the lamp, the very last step was to lacquer the base and spray it with a felt fiber, either green or blue, so it would not scratch the table it might rest on.
Without a ready source of blue suede shoes, either Ronald DeGennaro or someone else lacquered his shoes and sprayed them with blue felt. The perpetrator was the envy of the entire class when he walked out of the wood shop sporting “Blue Suede Shoes.” Perhaps someone remembers Mr. Sundberg’s reaction or the star of this story.
Is that crazy or what?????

I posted these images once before, but they are so poignant, so important, I felt this "Challenge" was the perfect time to repost them.
During World War II, the Arrow Cross Party was a socialist Hungarian party that was in power in October 1944 to March 1945. During their short rule, 10,000 to 15,000 people were murdered outright including many Jews and Romanians, and upwards of 80,000 people, mostly Jews, were deported to concentration camps in Austria.
From Wikipedia about the memorial: "The Shoes on the Danube Bank is a memorial erected on 16 April 2005, in Budapest, Hungary. Conceived by film director Can Togay, he created it on the east bank of the Danube River with sculptor Gyula Pauer to honour the Jews who were massacred by Fascist Hungarian militia belonging to the Arrow Cross Party in Budapest during the Second World War. They were ordered to take off their shoes, and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river and were carried away. It represents their shoes left behind on the bank."
This memorial gives remembrance to the 3,500 people, of which approximately 800 were Jewish, who were slain.
My prayer is that no one viewing these images or these words are offended by them, but rather are offended by the actions of the past AND ongoing disregard for our fellow human beings that could carry out such atrocities.
