On the Nikon USA site, price $2699.95. That's a $300 discount from their normal price.
Same price as every other reseller outfit.
That is not a discount, even if Nikon try to call it that.

No. You don't understand how Nikon USA works. Nikon fixes the prices at Nikon AND the resellers. They all match. Two days ago, the price of that camera (USA version) was $2999.95 everywhere. Now it's $2699.95 everywhere. When the sale is over and it goes back up, it will go back up everywhere. All Nikon USA authorized dealers from B&H to your local camera store will have the same price until the sale is over. I've been watching the Nikon USA web site almost daily to see if they were going to offer any deals I might be interested in. Last year they dropped the price of the D850 around this time by $500, and it sold out quickly.

If they are selling it at a lower price than the usual cost, then it is a discounted price no matter what YOU try to claim it is. :)

Imported model. No USA warranty. Nikon USA will not work on it if it needs repair.

It does indicate that a 2 year warranty is included, but no details other than that. Maybe it's an inhouse warranty?

You might want to research that company. They have a long list of complaints along with missing components they try to sell you that are suppose to be included. Buyer beware. If you need further proof, just do a search of that company on UHH.

Ya, I don't think I would trust a Photo/Video business that has a much lower price than what is normal for most places.

Yes. In house warranty, but is it worth it? Nikon USA will no longer sell parts to independent repair shops. I would read the fine print carefully. Will they replace the camera if it fails? It's not worth the uncertainty to me.

I received a really nice glossy catalog from KEH in the mail a day or two ago. Flipped through it to see if there was anything that I couldn't do without. Pricing was very interesting, with used prices for recent models from all manufacturers very close to posted new prices, and prices for quite experienced models, like the D7200 and similar, surprisingly high. Most likely reflects the ;ack of available supply of new cameras (from all manufacturers).
Seems to be a real sellers' market right now for cameras, just like for houses and cars.
A fool with his money shops at Abe's (and 42nd St).

Nikon is selling the D850 new today for $2699.95. They're selling the D850 refurbished for $2799.96. Go figure. I asked a local camera store I visited today how much they'd give me for my D810 in trade on a D850. I mentioned it has less than 10k clicks. $400. They're selling a D810 on their web site with more clicks for $1200. I'm keeping the D810. I just wanted to hear what I suspected I would hear. You may be right about supply and demand keeping prices of used equipment high. There were some gaps in models displayed on the shelves in the store.

If you buy anything from 42nd St Photo (or Abes) after everything that has been written on this forum, then you get what you deserve. As for their “warranty”, maybe you should ask exactly who will do the repair. This is a bait and switch outfit and shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same thread as reputable dealers such as B&H, Adorama, Roberts, etc.
