I get more White Crowned Sparrows in the Fall and Winter and rare visits the rest of the year-there is a small year around area of them in this part of California. This doesn't have the extreme detail in the feathers I usually go for but the over all image just appeals to me, pose, surroundings and colors all blend to make this immature White Crowned Sparrow a marker of Fall in So California.

with fill flash, the SS was because I was hoping to get one of the group in the yard in flight
