Our last day with cameras in hand, we took the morning to visit the Sneffels Range one last time via County Road #9, then headed back to Grand Junction and made a loop through the Colorado Monument before checking in at our lodging. I know my buddy was tired after driving for 10 days but he indulged me with one last search for a place to capture the sunset. Sam has a good instinct for sniffing out photo ops, and he zig zagged along several roads until we ended up on the north side of the airport runway in what looked like a 4-wheelers paradise. The lighting on the Book Cliffs Escarpment was the highlight of the trip for me. While the aspen yellows and golds are captivating, it's the burning embers that really light my fire. Sunset was the perfect finale for the drama of autumn in the Rockies.

God does give us some beautiful scenes to photo, doesn't He?

The Sneffels are a beautiful backdrop to any composition, and I can see why you enjoy them. Thanks so much for checking out my posts, Dodie!
