I suspect that if there were a poll or vote taken, an overwhelming majority of folks would prefer your method of grooming. This would also hold true for some other breeds, such as poodles. But then the dog show people are a closed community more interested in pleasing each other rather than the rest of us. We had a Shih tsu for several years and Molly was a wonderful girl.
