A sunny November afternoon - so here is my Bonsai enjoying some fresh air in the yard.
The golden background is made up of fallen leaves from our walnut tree (stripped of nuts by a couple of sqirrels).
Shot with my backup Panny G3 with 45-175 PZ - total weight 648gms.

Wouldn't it be a "Japanese Elm" as a Bonsai?

Mine came from a supplier of Bonsai trees and seeds etc in UK. (ebay - bonsai)
I guess there should be similar sites in US? Good luck D.

Quote
"Although the word 'Bon-sai' is Japanese, the art it describes originated in the Chinese empire. By the year 700 AD the Chinese had started the art of 'pun-sai' using special techniques to grow dwarf trees in containers".

I thought maybe you were thinking of "Bansai"

Hi angler, leftj, lamiaceae,UTMike, jaymatt, jerryc41, Hereford - and all who might have looked in.
Thanks for comments - I must say Bonsai is a fairly new interest for me - but I do enjoy it. This one I acquired this year after a previous one gave up after three years. Chinese elm is popular as it is quite hardy, and has small leaves.

I really enjoyed this well done shot. The composition was eye-catching, with the crisply focussed plant
foliage against the blurred yellow leaves and its green awning reflecting the green of the live foliage. Lovely!
