Both Adorama and B&H are stating the Nikon Z9 will start shipping on December 15th. The cameras will ship in the the order that orders were received...as they should.
Of course, the shipments will be limited by the 3,500 units produced per month as previously reported.
I imagine cameras ordered directly from Nikon will ship in the same time frame.
It's going to be a very merry Christmas for some Hoggers who jumped early. I envy you.
In my opinion the speed and accuracy of the AF system is worth every penny of the price. Unfortunately I can't spare that many pennies.
Just hope they don't ship by ship...
Hope Nikon can make them fast enough to fill the orders quickly.
Got my pre-order in to a brick and mortar shop here in Houston. Not expecting it to arrive until sometime in the new year.

What you need to realize is that NPS members will be prioritized and will receive theirs prior to non members.
Manufacturing actually went into full production mode in September.

The last we heard they were making 3,500 per month.

I think the demand for it is highest now so if they don't fill all the orders in a reasonable amount of time they would lose some of the customers which is very difficult to get back.

I placed my order with B&H, within the first hour after the official opening of preordering, so I'm hoping it will be a very merry xmas! :-)
I wondering when the new 24-120mm f/4 S lens will start shipping. I'm very interested in that lens. I don't see a shipping date on the B&H website.
I'm looking forward to the hands-on reviews, not that I am about to buy one, though.

How large is the NPS community for Nikon?

I don't personally know, but based on D850 deliveries I would guess 3 or 4 months worth of production.
Wow!. This means 10-14,000 customers!

Greys of westminster said 40,000 orders have been placed.
That's what I heard. 40,000 / 3,500 = 11 1/2 months just to fill the pre-orders. Looks like they've got a winner.
