Overprocessed?

I'll answer my own question. Yes! I shot this in 2005, very early in my digital photography experience. I had just got into processing. Wow! I could up the saturation and I could SHARPEN it. I was drunk with power. Sadly, I had not learned to keep the original. So this is what I've got. I still like it.

The colors are still great, it's the oversharpening that isn't holding up with time. Hopefully, you unlearned not to keep the original not too long into your processing career. Depending on the tools you have today, see if moving a 'clarity' slider slightly to the left makes a difference.

I find it enjoyable at the proper viewing distance. Pixel peeping shows me I'm not alone! A win win!

The sharpening's been overdone a bit but as far as the colours go, the only thing that jumps out at me is the blue of the water. In this day and age of ramped up colours, the rest of the image is just about passable.

It's still better than the best black and white ever posted on here.

Perhaps a little bit with the blue water, still a nice shot

For a relatively small print (5x7 or smaller), that sharpening will likely not be an issue at all.
