#2 is the original orientation, but I think #1 is a better photo.
I agree. The head and the color of the beak is the focal point of your take. Nicely done.

Both complicated images right side up or upside down, but for me it is the one that is not upside down, so the first one of the two. Beautiful wing details.
I agree with you. I think putting the "heavier" part of the image at the bottom works.

The upside down head can't be the correct orientation because there is not enough of the body on the bottom to be the real way this was of the bird. The bulk of the swan's body would be at the bottom of the image, which is the first one you show, with the head the right way up. If, as you say, the real image was the head upside down, how could you have the bulk of the body up at the top of the image, where would the feet be?
I think the real image is the one with the head the right way up and the bulk of the body on the bottom of the image. The background water looks to be correct in that image too, but not in the upside down one. Another reason why the upside down one could not be the real image, as you state, is because of the light. You could not have the sun shining up from the ground and the shadow part of the feathers coming from where the sky would be. Light gives it away here.
I agree, I like number one more also.
I also agree. Very nice image.

I also like #1 but the crop is such that I have a hard time figuring out what I'm looking at.
Others seem to have no problem with it, so it's probably just me.
I really like both ---
But with the birds "eye" fully displayed must go with #1
