Cable Release Port

I believe I once used a cable release with my Nikon D850, but I can't find the port on the camera body now. Am I mistaken? The cable release has a circular connection; the circular port I think should be somewhere on the camera must receive wire prongs from the cable release. Does anyone know where that port is on the D850 or if the D850 doesn't have one?

That info should be in your user manual.

I don't use Nikon, but I did google the above: Looks you may need a "remote" gadget to use that cable.

On the front of the camera, left side, second rubber cover below "D850".

In the introduction section of the manual an illustration of that camera shows the 10 pin connector to be on the front right side just under the D850 label and it is covered by a protective cap.

There is no "old style" cable release on that camera. There is a 10 pin socket on the front upper right side (looking at the front of the camera) behind a rubber cover to which a remote cord or WR-R10 wireless remote can be attached. I recommend the WR-R10 as it allows wireless shutter release and wireless flash control. Consult your manual for more details, a PDF manual can be downloaded free of charge from the Nikon website if needed.

Thanks for the help. I felt sure I had used it before & now I'm all the more certain I had. With my old D7100 I believe I was using a wireless remote. Yes, I did find it to the right of the lens mount (white) marker.
