I would use it to 500mm only unless desperate - and crop if need be and use pixel enlargement software. Definitely do a focus cal. @ 500mm if nothing else.

I find 600mm not that bad. The Canada Geese were at 600mm with an adapter on a Sony A6000 at f6.3. And I did process in DxO.
The Mourning Dove is also at 600mm and processed in DxO. Used a Sony A99 camera for this one. I have Mourning Doves build nests on my patio every year. Sometimes, two sets of babies in the same year.
