Thanks Larry for hosting another Free Sunday. I always look forward to them.
I brought my Hibiscus in for the winter several weeks ago, as it was looking pretty sad. The leaves were falling off in mass. I immediately fed it, and to my surprise this morning it bloomed. I didn't particularly like the angle I had taken the photo, so I had a go at changing it up a bit.

Three days of canning resulted in 41 quarts of beef stew, veggie beef soup, and stuffed pepper soup with chicken broth and chicken rice soup coming when the weather gets really cold.

Ohhhhh...yummy!

Don't forget to put a screw-on lid on that jar in the front right...

Ha!! Very observant of you - actually, all the rings are taken off before the jars are put down in the pantry.

Love that first shot-adorable! She certainly turned into a lovely young lady!!

Your first photo reminded me of a young boy abput 2 1/2 years old that was doing a very similar thing. The only difference is that he was hanging onto a railing at the Grand Canyon and swinging out over the canyon's edge where there was a 3000 foot drop. I had a few chosen words with his parents only to be told that I should be ashamed of myself for ruining their day. I'm still scratching my head over that one.

Wow! If their precious little boy had fallen 3000 feet it would have REALLY ruined their day! SMH at their lack of concern!

OK, so it sounds like I'm about to learn something new.

Why do you taken the rings off before storing?

The rings are needed to keep the lids in place during processing and stay on the jars for at least 24 hours so that the rubber on the lid itself has a chance to cool and properly adhere to the mouth of the jar, then they can be removed, washed and put away to be used again with a new batch of jars.

They are all very nice, but on no.3 you hit it out of the park, wonderful, natural smile, and the lighting is perfect
