I too am a hobbyist not quite a professional. I have a SONY RX10 mk4 and a Canon Pixma pro 100 printer that has turned on me. It served me well and all of a sudden my blacks have a magenta cast and my blues turn more purple. Any one have a similar problem. Canon tech did all he could and finally said it probably is internal hardware problem. So now I have a forty lb paperweight. Suggestions are welcome and suggestions for a new printer also welcome
I am far from expert but have had the printer for a good few years. Check the online manual. If you have run a color balance correction, you may have to adjust a copy of your image till the printer gives the results you want. I have had to do that on occasion and keep small paper on hand mostly for that.
Thanks I'll give it a try
Printing of a color image required something to manage the colors. Your post processing software probably wants to do it and will default that way. Your printer wants to do it too and defaults to that too. If both are doing it at the same time, the resulting print will be a mess.
You have to pick which one you want to manage the color. Most disable the printer's color management and elect to have their software do it. In my case, I have turned off the color management in the Lightroom Classic Print module and have it turned on for my Pro-100 printer.
Thanks, I'll see if that works. How do you toggle off & on for the printer or the LR. My LR is old 5 does that matter

For the printer, it is a bit buried in the printer driver, but it is there. In Lightroom, it is in the Print module and is a menu choice down the right side.

I’ll check mine to make sure, but I’d guess you either have an installed application for the printer (check your applications) or you can go to settings>control panel>printer and choose the Pro 100 to disable the color management
The printer driver can be opened through the operating system or the post processing app's print module. In this picture, mine is set to "Auto" instead of Manual. In Lightroom I have it shut off. Most would set this to manual. For reasons I do not understand, I like my prints better when the printer is managing the color in "Auto".
There certainly may be a better way to do it! But, I've got a lot of prints I like.
I had this problem early on with my printer. I spoke to Canon about it. They ended up sending me a new magenta cartridge. I guess the one installed had a problem. You might try changing out the cartridge.
I have the Pro-10 and anytime I experience color issues, it has been the cartridge. I don’t print terribly often, so one practice I’ve adopted is to print a 4x6 image once a week to keep the nozzles from clogging. Cleaning clogged nozzles is very expensive. Much cheaper to print a 4x6

Make sure that you only use OEM genuine inks from the manufacturer.
