The UK signed an exit deal with the EU - promised it would deliver great prosperity and wellbeing for it's citizens. However, apart from the problems with the Irish Border, UK fisherman have major problems with fishing rights which are being frustrated by the French Authorities who have held a UK ship for more than a week in quarantine - it has now been released but no doubt further problems will arise as there is still contention between the UK and the EU re fishing quotas . . . sorry for the long explanation BUT you asked for it - much of the humour has now been lost but thanks for your query,

A majority voted to leave the EU which the UK joined as a solely trading partnership. Over 4 decades the EU had become more political, looking to establish a United States of Europe with powers to overrule the laws of the individual countries. The financial management has been such that for approaching 30 years their annual accounts have not been independently signed off. Annually hundreds of billions of euros have been unaccounted for, but they just vote to continue anyway. Imagine a company getting away with that.
Anyway there are plenty of indications that we will be better off outside the EU. However there will be teething troubles, particularly with France who want to punish us for leaving. We were one of only three countries providing the bulk of the money, so our share is sorely missed. Also some other countries are showing signs of wanting to follow us out, so by making things difficult for us they hope to deter others.
Complicated to explain briefly but above will hopefully add a little more background to Rathyatra's posts.

The EU squabble reminds me of how our federal government in DC wants to rule the states. Same basic issues.
