Colours - 1 & 3
composition - 1 and 2
Impact - 3
I suggest cropping the third image into a square or vertical format, placing the bird on the upper right third of the image and the sunlight off the centre. Play with the cropping on both sides to get a pleasing balance of composition. Also reduce the brightness of the streak of light and increase the saturation a bit to bring out the colours. And of course sharpen the image a bit if needed. Good luck.
I select #3 as my favorite.

Hi jk
Your PM asked me to have a go. I have done so with the small image posted. I have done one according to what I have suggested above. It seemed to have lost the expanse of the sea so I have done another one where I have cropped both sides and moved the bird to the right. For both, I have filled the blown out areas with a very light yellow picked from the image.
Vertical format version
Landscape format with the bird moved

Same problem I was having with the tighter crop....lost the expanse of a seascape.
Like the yellow...but the bird needs somewhere to go...and he is off to the side of the photo too much...
If it wasn't against the rules for assigned subject matter I would clone the bird to the left of the photo..and erase him from the right...
Number three does it for me but all are breathtaking. Keep up the great work!
