Hard cropping

Late spring this year I shot a JPG through our kitchen window - uploaded and then forgot it. Yesterday I came across the pic and using Affinity produced two different crops (not the greatest pics, but I was still surprised at the results).
The original shot and the two hard crops are attached.
Panny M4/3 GX8 (20mpx), 45-175 at 47mm. 1/100, f9.0, 800 ISO.

My point exactly! Most times, un or slightly processed jpegs will do the job. I rarely encounter a situation that merits RAW.

Yes software is getting better with each iteration. I could live with shooting jpgs if raw was unavailable. When viewing at 1920 res you probably would not see a difference.

Indeed well said and you also save time and conserve storage space.

Good lens and sharp focus let's you do a lot of things with crops. I still shoot in RAW because I'm a control freak.

I usually shoot RAW + JPG. I PP RAWs using mostly Affinity and develop, but when I compare the JPGs developed from Affinity (or PhotoPlus, which I prefer if I do layers after development), with my SOOC JPGs, I find no big deal of difference, and at that stage if I feel a need to adjust I usually get what I want from editing the JPGs. However, when in the mood I do like to play with the RAWS, which helps to keep me up to speed.
As my thing is to try to capture "different" pics, I don't shoot many, so I have a lesser need to save my RAW PP adjustments for future further PP.
