Rumors of Sony A7000 or A8000

There have been rumors circulating since 2019 that Sony is going to release a new high-end APS camera, as a follow-on to the A6500 and A6600, called either the A7000 or A8000. Same form factor as the A6600, with the larger battery, and somewhere around a 32mp sensor. Still haven't seen it. Anybody have insights as to this possibility? I would love to get one. Thanks.

Could it have materialized as the Sony A7C - Full Frame sensor in the A6XXX form factor

No, the A7C came out a while ago, and was positioned as a smaller version of the A7III. The proposed new A7000/8000 has been positioned as the new high-end APS camera, almost a mini-A9, with the cropped sensor, not the full frame. Although they are going to have more or less the same form factor, they are different cameras.

There have also been rumors that Nikon was going to come out with a Z9.
