Autumn in Connecticut

Spent a few days down in Connecticut. The leaves were nice in many places. Seemed somewhat later than usual. Alas I did not manage to get to Vermont where the leaves are now definitely past peak. Weather a lot better than predicted a few days before the trip. Autumn has been my favorite season since childhood. One of the reasons I could never live in Florida.

The windows were not quite frosted but . . . frost will be coming soon.

The gray clouds definitely added to the ambience.

Wow! #1 really tells the story, with the sheltered indoor plants staring sadly at their frozen cousins outdoors. The semi frosted windows take me back to when I was a kid. My brother and I slept up in the unheated attic, and there were winter days with plenty of frost on the inside of the glass. That’s a really nice shot. And, #3 just makes you look right at it. Very nice work.

Thanks. I remember the unheated attic. When guests were in the house my brother and I were banished to the attic. A tad chilly at times. Looking forward to next visit down there.

Thanks. Taken near Watertown. Drove to Lakeville twice over the weekend to catch up with my sister. the trip on 63 (mostly) was magnificent. Over the years I've spent a lot of time in central and northwestern CT. Some gorgous scenery, lovely two-lane roads, and good food.

Thanks. That was taken indoors with very intense light coming from the right and above. Some processing applied to the background.
