The first shot is soft. The processed image is nicely enhanced but you started with a tough image to improve. It's good work, though.

The detail improvement on the eagle is great, but at least to me the whole thing (bird and post) looks like it was cut out and pasted to a black piece of poster board. It has sort of a raised/3D effect that is very noticeable and distracting, again at least to me. Maybe a bit lighter or more varied background would reduce this effect. Anyway, you asked what we think and I'm trying to be honest rather than over-critical. Still a nice image!

Looks like you're learning your post processing quite well. However changing the background to black made it look like the eagle was cut out and pasted on the background.
