This isn't just me being perverse: Obsessively dedicated photographer though I am, I managed to miss by about a week the fall color along one of my favorite stretches of creek; there was no excuse for that. Disappointed at first, I quickly realized that color was the only thing missing from scene after beautiful scene, so I took photos with b/w conversion in mind, and had a blast editing them. For the squeamish among you I've included a few color images, as well as the conversion of one of those images. The final photo is about as colorful as it got out there, and also gives a sense of this mixed landscape I call home, from the lovely riparian area in the canyon to the distant cliffs towering above.
Thanks. It's good for me to slow down and look at things differently.

Both black and white and color photos are very nice!!! #1 and #6 are my favorites. The photo that you have presented in both color and b&w are great both ways. Isn't it great that in our age of digital we can have both!

I know a lot of people don't see the point in b/w imagery, but I don't think they've played with it enough. I love seeing how a so-so color image can take on drama when the color is removed (and a lot of other adjustments are made, of course).

Thank you. With recent flooding it is a pretty beat-up area, and somehow I think the b/w treatment makes it look more beautiful.
