Artistic photography is using Photoshop to create an artificial image that did not exist at the time of shooting. Customers want what existed on location, not a phony staircase or a phony background from a computer. Be a photographer, not a computer operator.

What is wrong with being both?

"Mustang1" Photo Shop is a tool. Is a paint brush to art. Using your reasoning Art is fake, YES a painting is fake a statue is fake. But art is art. It's something that was done for ART or beauty.

Are you a pro? I am a retired pro, and my customers didn't want "what existed on location". They wanted their portraits retouched, and I had some corporate clients who had a standard practice to add "phony backgrounds" to their photos. Sometimes they supplied the backgrounds they wanted Photoshopped in. And I often got instructions on what to Photoshop, usually to remove distracting elements which couldn't be removed during the shoot. Professional photographers today who refuse to be computer operators won't get far.

I would say uu are embracing the mundane to adjust and manipulate a photo that will differ that the photo you shot and have an ego gratification problem. The software engineer who develops the program(S) allows you to be more than you are.

A prime example of how Hogsters write the way they shoot and also shoot the way they write ... you avoid editing and revision and are proud of it.

With all due respect, I have to conclude that you really don't understand either one of them.

It’s really best to never compare anything to anything. There’s always a difference. No problem with banana shortcakes and apple pudding. And let’s not forget about strawberry pie. All good.
