You've got one of the best bag makers right in your country.

Well sir, before anyone can reccomend a bag for you, they must know what you wish to carry in it.
Camera body - type and quantity.
Lenses - specifics so we know the sizes - quantity (do you want to carry 1 or several?
Flash?
Meter?
Hand held or over shoulder or back pack or sling?
Day use, hiking, air travel?
Etc.
Glad to help but need more specifics.
Garry.

nothing to complicated Gary, a 450d a 70-300, a 50mmlens, and the 18-55 kit with the camera but a bit more room to upgrade
thanks, i would prefer backpack type not for air travel.

Owning at least 10 bags plus cases I have been through a lot of change in my 40+ years of photo taking. I can tell you a couple of rules that should be followed, but they sound so obvious when you hear them.
SO.
"Think Tank StreetWalker".
Because it is big enough for you needs, light for its size, and doesn't have too much clutter on the outside (snagging straps and the like).
It's reasonably priced.

Billinghams are nice but expensive.
Lowepro are pricier and mor clutters and heavier.
Lots to choose from. A decision best CAREFULLY considered!
Garry.

We travel a lot to sports venues, including flying.Pelican cases are bullet proof, even for air line baggage handlers....A backpack to carry on sports feild,a Lowe pro roller bag for local use/car,hope that helps.

You may want to check out Think Tank. A bit pricey but a variety so you have good choices plus rollers if you want or back pack. Protection is great and pockets to cover I Pad or laptop or whatever you may carry with you. They even have one made especially for air travel. I recently purchased the large one with rollers and wow, I love it. Caries a couple bodies, 70-200, 17-55, a few speedlights, meters, slaves and other lens with a location for a tripod and two locks that I choose the numbers for along with an airplane wire connected to attach to a pole if I plan to be away from the bag shooting at another arena. I looked at a lot of bags before I decided and think they have a $50 rebate going on now.

Think Tank bags, roller bags, especially the Think Tank Airport Security is a great bag especially for air travel. I am able to get two bodies, two large lenses and still have room leftover for many lenses, a flash, a flash power supply.
Think Tank provides great customer service.
