42nd Street Photo

Some of the brick and mortar stores are matching on-line and other competitors' prices. Saw a d5100 body for about twenty dollars cheaper than any one else.

Will be visiting Manhattan (NYC) in a few months. Has anyone had any dealings with 42nd Street Photo?

Not sure of their reputation, but I'd like to tell you one thing to keep in mind. I order from B&H. If you order online (& not from NY), there is no sales tax, but if you walk into the store to buy, you pay sales tax. Go, look around, then order what you want when you get home.

You should be able to buy on premise and avoid sales tax by having them ship it to your home.

A great place to start before you shop on line or in person is
http://www.resellerratings.com/store
By the way 42nd St compiled a 9.2 rating on the richter scale
If you are going to shop in NY for camera equipment why not select from the best, best rated by Consumer Reports B&H camera. You need to be aware of their hours, their hours they close early of Fridays to start observance of the jewish sabbath.
My past experience is that Adorama seems to be able to ship my buys faster also, and I think it might be where their warehouse is located vs B&H
