Tool these during the past week or so. I began trying to capture birds in flight about 6 weeks ago and I think my first attempt was on the 16th September this year. Since then I have taken a number of BIF mostly Gulls. I value your comments particularly constructive one and in the past Ive had a good number from other Hoggers! I wouls appreciate some on the following set!

Very nice series. The first could use some space in front of the bird.

Thanks with the last one it was catch 22 I was trying to crop out other gulls on the water which I thought were too distracting!

Thanks Mike they are actually Black-headed Gulls the first one is a juvenile the others are adults in Winter Plumage - they get their Black Heads in Summer- when breeding!

Good work on the photos. I am no expert on how to crop them, but there are some excellent bird photographers on UHH. You might want to post these on the "Birds in flight" portion and ask for help.

Aha! Thanks for the info. I never heard of Black-headed Gulls. I learn so much from fellow Hogs.

MM the Black Headed Gull do occur in the US but along with a number of other Gulls with black heads - a bit confusing but fun getting them identified.

I live in the midst of many species of gull, and have been singularly unsuccessful at consistently id'ing them correctly. Drives me batty!
