We have just last week returned to southern Florida where we will stay for a while. I went to my favorite beach to hopefully catch some nice sunset shots. After setting up on a two mile beach that was nearly empty, this fisherman decides to stand right in front of me. I was just about to move camp to a new location when i decided to use him in the picture. I was set in manual mode and taking advice from Chi Canon I was trying to expose to the right. I generally shoot at high shutter speeds to compensate for shake. But I didn't realize that it was this high and the ISO was higher than it should have been. I like the end result from an emotional point of view but I am curious about the technical POV. I was trying to keep the aperture small for DOF and the bird was just plain good luck.

Very nice result. It is an artistic capture. It does not have to be technically perfect. BTW you will be told to level your horizon.

That is just about what my wife said when she saw the sun rays. Thanks for looking
Looks good as far as the settings go. If you used a fixed prime lens & there was room to move back to include the fisherman in whole.

Thanks. I was using the RF 70 - 200 and was at 70. I was sitting in one of those beach chairs that are about 3 inches off the ground. Regrettably it takes a bit of effort and time to get out of the chair. But it certainly would have been nice to get the whole fisherman.
Beautiful image with the sunlight though the clouds. 😀
