A lovely evening here in the valley. A little windy at times, game time temp 72.
D500 and D4
300 2.8
auto iso hovering around 8-10,000 yikes
auto white balance seems to work just fine.

Hi Rick: Hope your day is going good, come to think of it the day is almost gone lol.
Yes I used a Nikon D4 with a Flashpoint flash on ttl Lens 24-70 2.8.
Shoot in manual 1/125 at 8 with an iso at 100 and other lady iso 450 same settings. The Flashpoint flash is so strong I have to cut the power in half at the distance from camera to the ladies.
I forgot the flash diff user that leads to a very bright flash instead of a softer light.
The group of girls 1/250 at 9 iso 400

Jules, thanks for the info. I've always left my flash at home for the sports stuff, I may have to break it out.

Yes most places they don't want flashes anywhere near the fields. I agree with Rick you make me feel so inadequate. How do you always have super sharp photos at such a high ISO? I don't get any sharp photos above 800/1000. These photos are SUPER!!. Thanks BE SAFE and post more I love these.

Sharpness? If you go in the backyard around dusk and shoot some practice shots close up filling the frame, what iso are you using what ss, what??? Take a look after downloading them to your computer then make a judgement. Maybe your cameras have a limit on how high your iso can go before yuck time. This info. is available on google. Ask google what iso is good on this camera or that camera. Look the camera up on Nikon website all info is there for you.
iso 10,000 with Topaz Denoise Ai filled the frame 1/1250 @ 2.8 no cropping at all.

Hi Paul: Sometimes it may be the camera and the iso. Everyone has to do some research on say Nikon model number and iso and high iso. There are settings on Nikon and Canon camera:
Picture Control-under sharpening--set to one click back from max.
Shooting Menu-Long exposure NR to On.
High iso NR set to On
High iso set to On
These settings are for my Nikon cameras D500 and D4
You can't go wrong, your images will improve day or night. Never touch these settings no matter what you are shooting, sports, weddings, etc.
You won't be sorry.
Tom-Rick-Paul-Stephen make sure you set this up either with Nikon or Canon.
