Recently we've been fortunate to have a few Monarchs visiting our garden nearly every day. We typically don't see them at all during the summer. I suspect they're on their southerly migration towards Mexico, although - unlike their spring migration northward - they usually don't venture this far east in the fall. Photos taken with Canon R5, 500mm, handheld; processed in C1, signature added in Affinity Photo. Comments welcomed and thanks for viewing.

Nice set David. Butterfly bushes have had it for this year so only a few butterflies around.

Beautiful shots. Just as an aside, not all Monarchs go to/from Mexico. I don't know about the east coast but there are several Monarch groves on the west coast. The ones I know of are Australian Gum tree groves that overwinter thousands of Monarch Butterflies.

My wife and I set up a garden and terrarium rife with milkweed for the Monarchs (we have 10 caterpillars in the terrarium that I am catering to now) ((voracious appetites)) .
Disappointing here in Florida that almost 50% of them are born with a protozoan parasite that cripples them...I guess nature can be cruel sometimes....Nice shots of a newborn male!!
