Those who have the privilege of serving a cat will understand…
Unfortunately I understand. Especially the Upholstery Texturizer.
It's why I never liked cats. No offense to cat-lovers. They just ain't for me.
I think they are showing the brain too large!

Heck, dogs'll drool and jump all over ya, run around the house knocking over everything, chewing up the furniture. When a cat jumps in your lap and allows you to pet it, you KNOW that you're privileged. Besides, they're self-cleaning. Whoever tried to give a cat a bath????
Yeah, that looks pretty accurate.

Occasionally you’ll find cats that like baths, but I’ve never had one, although mine are fascinated by water and will drink from the faucet. At one time we had 4 Abyssinians (so you know we’re deranged), which was fun, but we’re down to just one 2 year old girl now. I should have gotten two when we got her but Abyssinians are hard to find, and now since it’s HER house, I’m not sure how adding another would work out. Personally, I am fascinated by cats and love them. They can be just as affectionate as dogs if you understand them, but I’d be the first to admit they are lousy home protection. On the positive side, they don’t bark, don’t need walks, are fastidiously clean (don’t roll in s$it), and can be left by themselves for a weekend (with plenty of food and water) without coming back to a wrecked house. Of course, they are not obedient (although ours will come when called and fetch on command), but I’m not threatened by their independence - I admire it, (and I think having retractable claws is neat - wish I had them sometimes).
Cats have a natural life cycle that consists of hunt/kill prey, eat, groom, sleep and repeat. If you watch a cat hunt, it’s all baked into their genetics - they don’t need to be taught - they instinctively know how to do it. Since our cats are always indoors, we assist them in practicing their hunting skills with games - they are very efficient little predators, and there are no field mice or bugs in our house (for long). Cats are self-domesticated because they are opportunists - they hang around with us by choice because we feed them and give them a warm place to stay.
