A great muscle car! It used to give me a "run for my money" at the Piedmont Dragstrip in Greensboro, N.C.! I was running a 67 Plymouth GTX with a 426 Hemi!!!

Nice! It appears to say 395 under the SS in DDL. Knew a gal back in the day who had a GTX with Line lock. Can't imagine what she spent on tires, but she'd be there spinning and smoking, then Gone.

The car in the photo is a 1966 Chevy Chevelle Super Sport. My ex-husband and I had a 1967 model and it was a 396 cu in. It was a great car!!! Wish I still had it.

There are some legendary big block V8 engines in American super cars, (406 Ford, 409 Chevy, 413 Mopar Wedge, the famous 426 Hemi, 427 Chevy, 440 Mopar, 428 Ford) and the 396 Porcupine head is one of the greats. Lots of cool small blocks also ( 283/327 Chevy, 289 Ford, 351 Cleveland…) Have I left out your favorite V8?

400 (6.5 Litre) Pontiac. Hey, my first car was a hand-me-down 68 GTO. I believe that some later GTO models had a 455, and let's not forget the Chevy 454.

I had a '68 GTO, also a hand me down (Thanks, then and still!) - a rust magnet, but FAST.

I could never figure out why people would buy "Muscle Cars". For that kind of money I could build a street legal "B Gasser" that would eat their lunch on the street or on the strip.
