My son is a graphic artist that prepares images of high end estate jewelry for magazines, catalogs and billboards. These are a few of the pieces.......take a guess at the value!

Five to six figures easily. Enough to feed families and shelter the homeless. Anyway, your son is a master at what he does

I hear what you're saying but Uncle Sam gets the tax dollars and there are dozens of people that fully employed thanks to the super rich. Then again, I do the extractions and as I'm sweating over those fancy little pixels I sometimes say to myself, "who the heck would wear this stuff!"

Some beautiful pieces, but, like you, don’t know anyone who would wear them.

Stuff comes down in families, and not just wealthy ones. Some of these pieces are very old, a couple at least museum quality. Will never know the back story. As to wearing them, almost no one dresses up even for fancy restaurants, or parties and jewels don't go well with casual. For that matter, who ever sets a dinner table with china, crystal, candles and best silverware anymore. Common for holidays and special occasions when I was growing up pure Middle class.

Somebody is wearing the jewelry. Maybe the opera and art gallery crowd. By the way, all the stones and pearls are very very real.

Yup! Been around a while, no doubt about the stones, even a pretty good guess at what some are. Never been in either of those groups, though I do enjoy a good show at a gallery and a new piece of art now and then.

Sometimes as I'm doing battle with the fancy pixels as I do an extraction on a piece of jewelry I wonder who was rich enough to purchase it or commission in the first place......and why. Was there a special happening or event? What happened that it's no longer in the family? Were the stones to match a special dress or the color someone's eyes? It takes a long time to fight all those pixels so the stories that bloom in my head get as elaborate as the piece itself.

I did one yesterday (ugly sucker it was) that had the head of a duck and the body of a fish. I figured that one was more an act of spite than love.

To each his own.

The pieces are beautiful and timeless. Unfortunately more like seen in a museum these days.
