So I got my D3s out since it say awhile and snapped a couple pictures. Does anyone know how to zoom in on pics on viewfinder. I know how to zoom for the focus point but I want to zoom slowly. I dont see a plus and minus button.

If it is the same as the D3, press the icon with the magnifying glass and rotate the main command dial counter clockwise. A yellow box will drop around the subject, when you get to the size you want, release the icon button. It resets itself after when you push the playback button again.

Note: Misread your post - this direction is for is viewing a photo on the monitor. The only way I know of to zoom in the viewfinder is by manipulating a zoom lens when taking a photo.
