"Now I lay me down to sleep....." While Mother Nature watches over me.

I believe that I may have posted this earlier in the wrong section so I've moved it here.

I enjoy creating composite images that relate to Mother Nature, the environment, and the creatures that live there for their world is ever so fragile and we tend to step on it heavily.

I take no credit for the images of the background, the fawn, and the eye that are an integral part of this image so thanks to the providers of those stock images whoever they may be.

I created what I thought to be a touching image to remind us of how interconnected all life is on this blue marble in space is and the importance of the stewardship bestowed upon us as the 'intelligent life form'.

I love your image, but don't forget that mother nature loves color.

Srg, thanks for dropping by and I agree that Mother Nature uses the ultimate color palette on her creations.

Your seamless blending of the face with shoreline is masterful.

This theme speaks to me greatly. I've always felt very close to, and respectful of, nature - having grown up near lakes and woods in Maine. I've recently been reading everything from Thoreau's 1864 "The Maine Woods" to current Canadian and American indigenous authors to the Pulitzer Prize winning "The Overstory." I hope it's not too late for humans to undo the damage, but the need for education and appreciation is daunting.

Thank you Sippy!

Thanks, Linda. Retirement has provided me the time to reflect on my life and that of the world I share during the time that I will be here on it. I've come to appreciate how fragile the balance of a healthy planet truly is and how collectively we are racing to upset it. Mother Nature has provided everything life here needs to survive and to thrive and we have placed our thumb on the balance quite heavily. There is no doubt that the planet will heal itself...the question is will mankind be around to see and benefit from it.

Merrytexan. I strongly believe that feeling good about connecting with nature is the core fabric of what we are. The problem we face is that it may be too deep inside us to be able to come out where it would make a difference.

Thanks, Kpmac. Thanks, ever so much. This is the fourth in the series that I have made with the theme of nature and an eye watching over something in the wild or crying for mankind's pollution of the planet.

Very pleasing and calming composite. Well executed. Perhaps executed should not have been the word chosen to describe what you did with the β€œgentle β€œ composite.

Calming to a point, but Mother Nature is nothing compared to Godzilla... the poor Bambi creature is doomed!! Godzilla is man's contribution to climate change and our ignoring stewardship bestowed on us. This photo is a calming "I wish" photo that is not realistic in today's world.

NJFrank, thanks ever so much. I believe that mankind needs to be kind to nature before mankind can be kind to man.

Thanks, Dpullum. I watched the linked video and there are many morals that can be equated to it. One is that nature is fragile and that a stronger force can easily destroy it. Another is that one's life is always at risk of a monster attack when visiting Japan.

Climate Change of course is of great concern. The largest contributor to the greenhouse effect attributed to global warming is the water vapor in the air which is many times more prevalent than carbon dioxide...but we can't tax water vapor so there is no money to be made by legislating it.

I see the pollution of the world's water having far more impact on the health of all lifeforms. In addition to the danger of water-borne diseases, the concentrations of "forever chemicals" are showing up in a vast number of the freshwater sources that we depend on. Nitrogen-rich runoff from fertilizers makes its way into the oceans which creates large algae blooms which kill and disrupt the balance of aquatic life. Water vapor in the air causes the temperatures to rise which causes more water to evaporate causing water souces to lower to critical levels and the air currents carry it away and then drop it out of the air in areas causing floods and other water-related disasters so we are experiencing both droughts, floods, and strong hurricanes.

Heaven or hell on earth will always be of our own making. Right now things are not looking so good for those seeking heaven here.
