Male Bobwhite Quail on fence - Birds on safari today in central Florida from an area I have explored before. I have a decent Quail shot from this area but this one is better IMO ! I am thankful for this great opportunity !
Canon 80D and Canon 400 prime W/1.4X II, handheld/braced, 1/750, wide open (f8), ISO 400, in slightly diffuse early morning light......with a good sized (50%) crop.

very nice. I never got a decent shot of quail when I lived east of the Mississippi. Out here in Oregon, the California Quail sit on fences and limbs all the time... Finally I got some shots...Good Job

Great capture. Most of the Bobwhite I have seen have been over the barrel of a shotgun.
