Just a few alligator shots. All are wild gators, living and photographed in the wild.

These are so cool and scary to think you would get close to photograph them! You are brave. I love the one with the birds and gator eyeing them. Perfect!

Swamp Gator,
These are all awesome. I love the action shots, especially the crab dinner one. For classic nature shots though I think my favorite is the last one with the low profile, protruding eyes and the bubbles. These are reminiscent of CC Lockwood and similar photographers here in the Atchafalya Basin. WOW

Thanks! That Alligator blowing the bubbles was kind of interesting. I saw it floating by as I was standing on the edge of a pond. As it got up to my point, it suddenly took a hard right and started swimming right toward me. It stopped a little ways out and started blowing bubbles out of the sides of it's mouth at me. Not sure what message it was sending but amazing to witness.

Wow! Great shots, how close were you and what kind of lens did you use. Were you on a boat? Give me all the juicy details.
I'm dying to get shots like those of Aligators around my fishing camp.

Thanks! The gators and birds get along better then you might think. Well..'get along' may not be the correct term, but they are often within close proximity of each other. And I have seen them actively feeding in the same areas.

Thanks!
I am often quite close to the cute little fellows. heh heh.
No boat, usually I'm standing along the edge of a pond or swamp where they live.

I generally use a Canon 7D with a 300 f4 lens.

Here's a couple lurking in the swamp down low in the duckweed. Last one is a young juvenile.
