Nikon Z50 have Color Sketch or Outline?

Color Sketch and Color Outline are tools that most Nikon models had up through the D850 and the D7200. They were left off of the Z6 and Z7. I would like to find out if they were included on the Z50. Can anyone tell me the answer to that?

I can't answer your question about the Z50, but previous posts here on the subject said it was left out of the D850 while being included on the D800 and D810.

Many post processing programs have similar effects.

I don't see them in the Z fc which has similar firmware and the identical sensor as the Z50.

David Bush has a Z50 book online - you might take a look. I skimmed it, appears the feature is missing.

What are they? I don't know about them. Wouldn't that be something you want to do in post?

Welcome to UHH summicron!
"...Color Sketch and Color Outline tools..."

These tools are readily available in Photoshop under the Filters Menu, Stylize, Fine Edges and Glowing Edges.
In this paradigm you'll have considerably more options and latitude than what in-camera .jpeg "Effects" can provide.

While I've used them before they have extremely limited usage potential for commercial work...
Albeit I did tutor a Graphic Arts Major for her project at the Arts Institute Washington DC.

My question for you is what scenario is your perceived need to utilize such graphical rendering tools?
Why do I ask? You may be better served with Adobe InDesign or Adobe Illustrator instead of Photoshop.
btw, I use to train Adobe InDesign while instructing at DOE's facility in Washington DC and Germantown Maryland.

InDesign is a very powerful page layout application used to create content destine for large production runs on offset press... Photoshop simply isn't appropriate nor germane for the aforementioned.

Hope this helps summicron.
All the best on your photographic journey...

I have a D7200 and really enjoy the sketch mode but I have tried to find it on my Z50 - it is not there. I have carried my D7200 on a trip just to have the sketch mode available, if the sketch mode could be added to the Z50 - it would make it a perfect camera…..

What post-processing programs, specifically, have similar effects?

That is exactly what I was trying to find out. Thanks very much. And I agree with you that it's worth shooting with the D7200 or D810 just to be able to use Color Sketch and Color Outline.

None of those options in PS do what Color Sketch does -- not even close.

The Z50 has Photo Illustration. I can post a sample but here is the description of what Photo Illustration in the User's Manual. https://onlinemanual.nikonimglib.com/z50/en/06_shooting_controls_01.html

Take a look at this with the 14 day trial. Advance warning... it's kind of clunky and the normal retouching features it provides are far from the best, so I just get most of my cropping and other adjustments done before going to Cartoonizer. You can probably get what you're looking for by playing with it. It produces small files, but looks good to me on a 43" monitor. Worth a free try to see if it will suit your needs:
