Diopter help!!!

I need to order a diopter for my Nikon F90x which has no diopter adjustment control.

On my other Nikon bodies that do have diopter adjustment, they adjust to a max setting of +1.
For my eyesight I need to turn the diopter adjustment dial almost all the way to the +1 setting.
If I order a +1 diopter for the F90x, it will be the correct diopter right?

Check with the people at B & H. They will be able to answer your question.

Maybe not.

Nikon SLR cameras (without built-in adjustable eyepiece correction) have a base diopter value of minus one.

Heya Bill! OMG, this should be made simpler.

I just carefully read that. It suggests the same. You don't worry about the base -1 value. As I ended up at +1 on a diopter adjustable camera for a clear image, it should be a +1 diopter required for the F90x as you don't count the -1 the camera already has by default.

Ok, I've gone and ordered the +1.
I'll update this thread when it comes in and try and explain how you determine the correct one in simple terms. There appears to be so much confusion across the net. Hopefully I can clarify it for others but first I better wait till mine comes in to make sure I haven't screwed it up!

Nikon eyepiece has the base diopter of -1 but the Nikon diopter labelled +1 is actually a +2 piece. You can buy the 0 diopter and it's a +1 piece.

Yes, so it seems I got it right as when I buy cheapy glasses from a store, I buy the +2.0

I probably should’ve asked the dog in my avatar. Looks like he’d know all about it.
