shot these at st. andrews for a flyer for the Dylan Tyler Band
The horizon needs to be straightened on both. There's a light spot on his shirt that that's distracting.

You know the world is round?
Good job, Dad!
Thanks for sharing
It may be but the horizon in these photographs needs to be leveled.

So Bob, your absolutely right the shots are not leveled across. Excellent eye. The final image i’m creating will not be of the whole picture so the horizon does not matter to me.
I posted these images under the section titled Photo Gallery. If you will lend that excellent eye of your to the description of the section you will see this section is for showing off your pics.
that’s what i was doing showing off a few pics in a project i’m working on
I did not ask for your criticism. If i wanted that i would have asked for it
i’m sure your excellent eye will not find me asking for it anywhere in the post.

Baud, I appreciate your compliments. Thanks for taking the time to address the comment made in this section.
However, it would seem reasonable that when on posts to the Photo Gallery they post their best attempt at producing a photograph. Thus, providing gentle criticism is not completely out of line. If you note, I'm not the only one to notice the horizon line in your post.
Your suggestion regarding the critique section is well noted and I regularly visit that section, as well. However, that section tends to be overloaded with a great many "I would have shot it this way..." comments. I tend to focus on the more egregious oversights that distract from the viewer's enjoyment of seeing the photograph.
Additionally, I would suspect that any post placed in the Gallery is a post of the photographer's best, or final, effort. That, or a series showing the processing from initial to final, but again the final is the best effort. So gentle hints at improvements have been appreciated in the past. These are mostly mentioning horizon/vertical lines and blown highlights. So, in closing, my thinking is the overall posts in any section, with the possible posts in the Photo Analysis section, are the photographer's final and best effort. Thus, comments aimed at improving one's basic technique are not completely out of line.

i guess that’s where we differ. i never put my best captures on photography websites, ever. I save those for myself my friends an others I print an give away.
i’m not here to make money gather fame just an old retired sign guy shooting as therapy an fun
interesting you understand the sections an how they work
yet putting your own definition to the sections an ignore the clearly defined guidelines as your obviously above them an have as much respect for them as you do others.
maybe your rude disregard for the guidelines works in your world it certainly does not in mine.
did you ever consider the mental an or emotional state of the others?
only here for positive input an output
some of us don’t need the negativity, hence why it’s posted in the section it is.
you keep doing you. your obviously good at it
have a nice day bob
have a good day
often receive comments on i would have done it this way or angles different or whatever the advice is an in often just roll right by it, thinking well ya should see the rest I captured.
I guess I'll just stroll by yours, as well.
One thing I did notice is there is an abundance of "fantastic", "great job", etc. comments in this section. Perhaps that's more of what you're looking for.
