....hello...hello'
I started out to make a nice portrait of steampunk Rachel - and then I thought I'd just see what these new neural filters were about. I might leave them alone in future. Any thoughts on the result?

I think the degree of success or failure depends on what you were hoping to achieve and how close you came to achieving it.

It appears to have created a spotlit effect. Since only you have seen the original, only you can determine how effective the filter has been.

Hmmmm, not quite the response I expected posting here RG but OK, I’ll make my own mind up.

For me, your result definitely fits the title. It looks like a scene from a movie! Nice work!

Ah, a believer at last! Thanks Carol - thing is, having got this result I then had to dream up a title!

You could be right Don, I can definitely imagine a pair of goggles perched on your forehead. My own excuse for them is that I occasionally ride a motorcycle!

I love the models pose. I can see some many possibilities. Usually I am a big fan of your work. But for me personally not this time.

That’s not a problem Frank and I don’t think you’re alone! I may even join you myself!

Good title. Illustrative and appropriate to the effect. Even the banding and posterization of the bkg tones works with it.

You seem to have got onto my wavelength Fotoartist - I’m still not sure I like it but that’s exactly how it made me think. Thanks for commenting.

Not having any idea where you thought you were going with this I think you got to exactly the right spot. The title is perfect I'm curious what filter(s) you used.

I’m glad you ask Curmudgeon (I think!). Where I intended going is as I say in the intro - to a ‘nice portrait’ was the initial plan - I just seemed to wander off in a different direction.
So to answer the filter question I’ve had to revisit the file and try to track the filter down - only to find I’m here under false pretences, the end result has nothing to do with Neural Filters! It appears I actually gave up on them and simply messed up with a Curves adjustment!! Slightly embarrassing. Didn’t mean to mislead anyone, honest! I feel duty bound to to now get to the bottom of Neural filters and find out what they really do - but it may be a while as I’m currently trying to improve a previous composite prior to printing. For that project I’ve had critique from the official photographer at Salisbury Cathedral - how impressive is that? Probably not enough to divert you from the Neural filter faux pas? Oh well, I’m sure it will all blow over in time….😳
