These photos show the takeoff and flight from inside the hot air balloon basket on the opening morning, October 2nd, during the Mass Ascension. There were about 1/3 of the balloons in the air when we first took off.

Very nice.
I flew my plane (Legally) over the Thunderbird balloon fiesta and wish I had been able to take photos. The glows were amazing from above.

Just curious, but how many miles do most of these balloon travelers go before descending?
