Yep. Brown Thrasher. It's unusual to catch them on a feeder.

We’ve had Brown Thrashers at our feeder since my father in law died in this house many years ago. For the last few days before his death, a Thrasher started pecking on his bedroom window and staring in, and they have been here ever since. We never had them before. Coincidence? I have my own opinion.

That’s quite a story. These strange phenomena occur with some regularity, but rarely receive public notice. Tks for sharing.

Have you considered sharing this with the N & O?

Birds pecking on the windows of dying persons is an old Southern legend, and many have experienced it. Maybe a coincidence, but… We just say: “hello Bruce”, and the bird sits on the feeder for long periods staring in our window. I find it both comforting and intriguing.

Oh no! I've had a Starling sitting and squawking on my bedroom windowsill for several days in a row about 8:30 a.m. Just sits there making noise until I bang on the window screen.

I feel fine, but maybe he knows something I don't.
