There are wonderful water lilies, lotus, and other aquatic flowering plants on diplay in Carroll Creek in downtown Frederick MD in the summer. The colors are breathtaking!

Yes, beautiful water lilies. Most tend to be white, so you have captured the more unusual ones.

Thank you to all of you who commented on my water lilies! I'd taken a bunch of shots earlier in the day while walking the dog. They were pretty pictures of beautiful flowers, but when I zoomed in on them I realized I had to get closer. I left Dude home and went back, sat on the edge of the creek with my feet hanging over and got as close as I could, and cropped them closer when I got home. (This is downtown Frederick. The creek runs through a man made concrete flood control channel - if I went wading someone would probably call the police, even if I didn't slip on the slimy channel floor and fall in, camera and all.) Your comments made me feel so glad I took the time to go back!
