Thanks, Fotoartist. This session was taken with a series of 384 images then processed as a stack to create the final image. The reason that there are so many images required is that I use a Nikon TM (toolmaker) 5X-power measuring microscope objective that has a D.O.F. of 0.017mm which is ever so shallow.
Most often all I can see is a tip of a hair that is in focus as you can see in one of the images that make up the stack while everything else is an out-of-focus blur
Beautifully done! I also like your "magnetic multi-axial specimen manipulator".
Dsturr, thanks for dropping by.

Thanks, Mark. I did an extensive search for a specimen holder that could orbit and provide pitch and yaw that I could buy. An important criterion was that it must completely be "out of the view of the camera" when using lower magnification sessions to view more of the specimen.
I thought that there would surely be many to choose from however I could not find one that met my needs. I did find one that looked quite promising however it was no longer available for purchase.
So...being a retired mechanical guy, I kept my eye and mind open each time that I would walk the isles of the hardware stores and the $2.50 investment have worked quite well for me and the mounting pin is tall enough that the stage is well out of the view of the camera.
