This old girl-5.5 years old- lost her rooster- Harry- the other day. She is acting somewhat lethargic but has integrated into the flock well enough. She was always a bit bossy.
Harry was segregated due to his extreme aggression. Sally went with him of her own volition and stayed with him for years. No eggs from Sally that we know of. Roosters are known to eat the eggs of hens they disapproves of.
Note the delicate hues around her beak.
D850, 500pF, 1/640, f 8, ISO 5000, no EC or CPL-handheld! No change to background. Some pp and cropping did occur.

Good photos, very colorful and interesting chicken. Reminds me of a slightly bedraggled chorus girl from the days when feathers were the thing.
