Good Morning Hoggers....

Opportunity to share a shot taken yesterday (10/5/21) at the top of Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah Mts. This is a "Pano" done with about 8 shots, and "stitched" in Lightroom CC...

Skyline Drive is a 105-mile (169 km) road that runs the entire length of the National Park Service's Shenandoah National Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, generally along the ridge of the mountains.

The drive's northern terminus is at an intersection with U.S. Route 340 (US 340) near Front Royal, and the southern terminus is at an interchange with US 250 near Interstate 64 (I-64) in Rockfish Gap, where the road continues south as the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Cheers and Enjoy

Good shot / job! How many MP Camera? I tried a 7 shot with 24.3 and finally gave up on processing, took too long.

Tks much Quix

Yes, Panos do take time and as a rule, I don't do many when I am traveling like this using my laptop. It is only and i5 processor but I do have 32 gigs of ram but still takes a long time...

We have been away from home for 7 weeks now traveling, so I basically just "Shoot away" - capture all the images, then download to my laptop with 1TB SSD, which is "auto sync" to my desktop at home... So when I arrive home, I have everything... A Mirror Copy... of all my data and edits which I can work on "much further" in the confort and the "speed" of my home machine...

And, Tks for your kind words.

Cheers

Wonderful shot! In a way, I consider Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway my "home" parks, even though I have a national park closer. In about an hour, I can be in Front Royal and begin the leisurely (speed limit on a two-lane highway: 35mph) ride as far as I wish to go. I've taken a two day trip to Boone, N.C., with a stop at Waynesboro, where Skyline Drive becomes the BRP.

Nice job on the pano. We will be in Staunton for a few days next week and will be visiting Shenandoah National Park for the first time before continuing on to Roanoke, Boone, and Asheville. Hoping we hit the color time just right.

We were in Staunton yesterday for lunch & we drove the entire length of the "Skyline Drive" the day before....

I will tell you that the Fall Colors are NOT there yet.... Maybe we saw a 10% at most

You may be slightly early. Changing a little late this year. Timing may be better when you get to Roanoke or further west. We are planning a family camping trip in the Shenandoah Valley for the 3rd weekend of October.
