Busy week with a new menu roll out and the 50th anniversary. Still working on lighting and DOF. Thanks all of you for your help and tips on DOF. Much appreciated.

I like the 2nd one better. I don't care for the background or the dusting of flour on the bottom cookie.

I REALLY like the light quality and the focus depth here is awesome! The stack and open cookie on top +++!! Color spot on. Very appealing!

My critique comes in the form of crop and the way the background cuts across the cookies on top. I feel a tighter crop and some sort of smoother transition background or maybe chocolate chips and some flour/ingredients in the background somehow to hide the transition line. - too many words here, sorry!!

The focus on the cookies looks good to me. I, too, think a substantially closer crop would be beneficial. The upper background doesn't really fit the image. You could either shoot again with a different background or change it in post. I agree that a few chips, measuring spoons, vanilla or whatever would probably be a plus to give contest..
