Tony Northrup has a recent video about buying a camera and two lenses from KEH and then having a "shootout" competition with his wife. Considering what equipment sold for when new, you can get extreme bargains buying used.

Um, yes. That has always been true. Anyone remember rec.photo.marketplace?

I bought a used 600mm f/4G though KEH. It was the only way I could afford one. I have found their rating system more than fair. They have a return policy and a warranty that can be extended. I will buy from them again.

I bought a Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 for about $650. It was new old stock, so I was the first owner. : )

Two of my three cameras were purchased "used" from KEH. Found the to be very honest and their equipment has been perfect.

Here's a general TIP - regarding KEH, ebay or from any used supplier/dealer - take a VIDEO of you breaking the seal , opening the box and unpacking the goods (just like Tony and Chelsea did) - clearly show the label with shipping tracking #....this way there can't be any disputes alleging you caused the damage, if there is anything objectionable. KEH and other dealers do have return policies but be aware of the terms. If a dealer doesn't have a return policy, RUN, or understand the risks!

Funny you should say that. I received two packages yesterday. One was delivered by FedEx and the other by UPS. Both boxes were badly damaged, but the things inside were okay. I took pictures before opening them.

KEH rocks! Especially for epic vintage lenses.
As a Nikon F mount aficionado I'm in love with AF D, AI & AI-S glass all of which I could never afford when they first were introduced. The AI and AI-S optics are precision made and there optical properties are still totally amazing (provided they have been well cared for). Did I mention how much lighter they are compared to the latest and greatest! Superb acuity and ergonomics at bargain prices!

Ok as to this Thread?
Here is an even better YouTube video of Tony actually negociating with a KEH rep in real time...
check it out... Yes it's obviously a marketing ploy by both Tony and KEH however from my experience with KEH it is highly accurate!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eOZYjrAw9M

btw I both buy and sell to KEH... They nearly always meet and or exceed my expectations, however in a rare occasion when we are not on the same page they gladly accept my return with a full refund.

And if you are looking for "hard to find" vintage epic kit KEH has been the best game in time (from my experience over several decades).

Hope this helps...

KEH is a great place for photo equipment.

As for the Northrups, if either or both of them told me what time it was, I'd hope I had an accurate watch to check for myself.

Generally, vendors selling their goods on eBay don't provide the warranty that KEH and MBP do.

I buy lots of used gear. If you aren’t in love with “the next shiny thing,” why pay full price? Let someone else take the depreciation hit AND the risk of early failure (look up “bathtub curve” in a search engine).

I bought my MacBook Air from Apple Refurbished. It might as well be new (same warranty). Saved $250 over new, retail.

KEH, MPB, Adorama, B&H, Roberts’ UsedPhotoPro…

KEH is my “go to” when I don’t deal with my local b&m.
