Fall Colors at Night

First off, this probably should go in the smartphone section, but I thought I’d share it with everyone here. The fall colors here have been nothing short of fantastic this year, and we have some birch trees in our back yard that colored up nicely. I let the dogs out at 11pm, and it was completely dark out, so I thought I’d test my iPhone 11’s night time ability, using just the slight light from the porch lights. The trees are a good 60 feet away. I thought it turned out well for handheld at night with dim lighting. This isn’t posted to show the excellence of a great photo, but just for the interest of it. I was surprised how much detail it picked up. It was shot at ISO 2500 at f/1.8 and 1/2 second with a 1/2 stop exposure bias.

Thank you very much. I’ll amend your statement to say that we WERE way ahead of you with the fall colors, because yesterday we had a terrific wind storm and a whole lot of the leaves are on the ground, and the trees are getting barer and barer. But you should be coming into your fall colors down there pretty soon.
